When we developed Gumboot Friday, we found young people were connected more to profiles focusing on who the therapist is as a person and what it’s like to work with them. That's why we designed profiles around “About Me” and “Working Together”.
Here are some tips to help you create a great profile:
Be Welcoming: Use a warm, friendly tone to make young people feel comfortable and heard.
Keep It Simple: Avoid clinical jargon; use everyday language.
Add Personal Touches: Small things about you and your journey help young people connect with you.
Don’t Double Up: Your age groups, therapies, and issues treated are already in your profile – don't double up.
Check for Errors: Ensure your profile is free of spelling and grammar mistakes.

A good photo for your profile picture can ensure you make a great first impression. I Am Hope accepts the following types of photos for the platform:
If you’re unable to display a photo of yourself due to work in sensitive areas, such as family violence, please let us know.

We can’t approve practitioners without a current, valid Annual Practicing Certificate (APC) from their Board or Association. To upload or update your APC, follow the steps in the “How do I edit my Application” section.
If your APC is delayed through no fault of your own, but your board has given you permission to practice, you can ask them to clarify this with us directly.
